Be Transformed by Renewing The mind
Just how can a leading preacher or pastor who thousands follow and millions abroad have come to know and love turn out behaving in immoral techniques most everyday church members wouldn't normally? This can be a question I'm sometimes asked. The issue continues to be occasioned through the recent conduct of some prominent Christian leaders. Some of those who raise such question come in effect questioning if such spiritual leaders use a genuine relationship with all the Lord. I believe that these occurrences highlight the importance of the necessity to renew our mind.
The Bible tells us to, "Be ye transformed by the renewing of one's mind" (Romans 12:2). Paul the apostle was required to write these words to the church at Rome. To put it differently, these words are not provided to the planet but to the believers in Christ.
What makes this a significant point? Because the persons whom Paul was corresponding with were already Christians, he tells them they should become transformed by renewing their mind. This aspect lays the building blocks for the purpose I wish to address in this article.
The key point is although were born again and become a whole new creation the minute we accept Christ as our Savior, the renewing of our thoughts are not instantaneous. And merely because we have become born again does not always mean we do not have messed up thinking that must be managed.
God won't want us to think as the world does. He wants us to have a God-focused view about life. For instance, I sense that many Christians are troubled through the events currently happening in your world: The economy isn't good, disasters are abounding and much more destructive, crimes have become more unthinkable, our government is actually dysfunctional, etc.
But as God's people, our faith must be in Him and not from the systems on this world. His capability to provide for His people is just not subject to the condition of the economy or some different. He's given us the term of God to rework our thought process to ensure that organic beef have this type of faith-filled perspective.
Precisely what happens when we elect to not increase the risk for renewing of our mind a priority? I undergo you that this kind of decision might have negative affect our fellowship with God. Think it over. Before we came to Christ, we had been living over processed foods on this world: music with objectionable lyrics, pornography, dysfunctional family settings, promiscuity, emotional or physical abuse, etc. If we want to be attuned to God and have the ability to sense the leadership of His Spirit in life, we have to understand this junk away from our mind and renew our thinking being one with Him. Again, our main tool for completing this task change of brain is the phrase of God.
This call to get transformed with the renewing in our brain is no option however a commandment: "Let this mind maintain you, that was and in Christ Jesus" (Philippians. 2:5). Essentially, this verse is often a commandment to allow for your brain of Christ to control our everyday life. If our keeping the mind of Christ was incidental to accepting Christ, the commandment for all of us to "let this mind be in you" would be a vain point, however this isn't case. If we want to contain the mindset of Christ, we've got to make personal investment in to the process.
